Dubai launched a new type of long-term visa under the name "Dubai Visa for Electronic Games".
The visa announced by the Dubai Culture Department aims to support talented individuals, creators, and pioneers in the electronic games sector, encouraging them to develop and enhance their skills. It also provides many investment opportunities to help them turn their innovative ideas into successful projects. This initiative is part of achieving the goals of the "Dubai Electronic Games Program 2033" launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, last November. The program aims to make Dubai one of the top 10 global centers for the electronic games sector and to boost its contribution to the growth of the digital economy and the emirate's GDP by about one billion dollars by 2033.
Dubai aspires to provide up to 30,000 new jobs related to the electronic games sector by 2033.
Dubai Visa for Electronic Games: What are the key details?
The "Dubai Visa for Electronic Games" is one of the long-term cultural visa categories granted by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority "Dubai Culture" to writers, thinkers, authors, artists, and creative talents in the sectors of cultural and natural heritage, performing and celebratory arts, visual arts, books and journalism, audio-visual and interactive media, design, and creative services. The aim is to encourage them to contribute to the cultural and creative movement in Dubai and to participate in achieving its ambitious aspirations to be a preferred destination for living, entertainment, and work.
According to the department, all game developers, designers, programmers, and pioneers in the electronic games sector can submit their applications for the "Dubai Visa for Electronic Games" through the "Dubai Culture" website or via the site (https://dubaigaming.gov.ae), attaching all required documents, including academic qualifications, community contributions, type of job, passport and residency photos, UAE ID, cultural resume of the candidate, contact numbers, address and place of residence, profession, and workplace.
